Tools And Materials Needed
Gather a few necessary tools and materials for this task, including the following:
- Eye protection.
- Cloths or paper towels.
- Disinfectant spray cleaner.
- Toilet cleaner.
- Toilet brush.
- Rubber gloves.
Step 1. Prepare Surrounding Area
- Begin by removing any item that may be stored on top of your toilet tank.
- All your necessary supplies should be nearby, at this time.
Step 2. Flush And Apply Bowl Cleaner
- The toilet lid should be closed as you flush the toilet.
- Do this in order to wet the inside bowl.
- Add the cleaner as close to the inside rim as you can.
- Make sure your rubber gloves are on during this step.
- Cover the bowl using the cleaner.
Step 3. Scrub The Bowl Completely
- Scrub beneath the bowl rim with the help of a toilet brush.
- The water jets can become clogged so make sure there is enough water present to flush the toilet properly.
- Scrub the whole bowl, which includes the drain hole opening near the bottom of the bowl.
- Flush the toilet after with the lid down.
Step 4. Clean The Toilet Seat
- Apply the disinfecting bathroom cleaner to the inside lid, rim, and bottom of the seat.
- The spray should sit for at least a minute before you wipe it away.
- Apply the spray to the outside of lid.
- Use a clean damp cloth or paper towel to completely wipe the seat down.
- Do this to remove any traces of bleach or other chemicals.
Step 5. Cleanup Thoroughly
- Spray the disinfecting cleaner again to the outside of the toilet.
- Spray the bowl edges, tank, and handle.
- Again, let the cleaner sit before wiping it down with a cloth or paper towel.
- Wipe the entire outside of the bowl down.
- Clean both the toilet brush and holder.
- If you moved any items before the project began, replace them now.
